Linguistic University (Former Moscow Institute for Foreign Languages named after Moris Torez) with an MA in Linguistics in 1990 then moved to Israel and worked as an English as a Foreign Language high school instructor in Haifa. Galia immigrated to Canada in 2002. She earned her BFA in painting from the University of Alberta in 2009 and received a Master of Applied Arts degree from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2012. As a part of her MAA program at Emily Carr University, Galia Kwetny worked as a TA in painting and drawing at the Department of Art at the University of Calgary during the Fall Term of 2011. In the past year, Galia took part in four group exhibitions in Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton. She had a solo show Terrains Vagues at the University of Calgary in January 2012 and Connecting Places at Harris-Warke Gallery in Red Deer in December 2012. Together with her Professor Landon Mackenzie Galia won a Richmond Columns Competition in Vancouver in January 2013.
